| There are many sources of lease agreements. Although a good lease agreement is pretty much the same among the states, some states do require specific clauses. Such required clauses will be found in the state's landlord-tenant laws. One source of a lease agreement that is usually likely to meet legal requirements of a particular state is the State Association of the National Associations of Realtors. However, while likely to be legal, it will likely be relatively short and unlikely to include many clauses that should be in a good lease agreement. One can always add an addendum, for which the Association should also have a form available. It is not usually necessary to be a Realtor to purchase Association forms, but if the Association prohibits it, you may be able to find a member who will obtain them for you. Discussions regarding what should be in a good lease agreement can be found on this site (if a member) and/or from one of several good books on the subject available in major bookstores. |
