| I recently got a new management company and thought they would be better than the last one. I told the new manager immediately upon their taking over the property that my shower head was falling out of the wall and leaking, I was told it would be repaired within the week and it is now 3 weeks later. I discovered two weeks ago that there was a leak under my kitchen sink and was told that a plumber would be out to repair it the next day. After taking the day off from work and waiting around all day, no one ever showed up or has been by since. I now have two leaks and am running out of pans to put under them. I have contacted the management company to no response. What can I do??? |

| DOCUMENT all these complaints in writing in a letter (save a copy) to the management company. Don't take days off work to be there - the management co. can let the plumber in (tell them you can't get the time off), or have them come on your day off.
Look at your local laws for relief on fixing the problem yourself and deducting from the rent. Do NOT do this until you have the relevant state statutes to quote in your written letter to them, otherwise you'll get evicted for nonpayment of rent. |
